Thurs. May 29 The Brits keep re-inventing American soul music and R & B music, especially, these days, the ladies. And so, we give you London born Kirsten Price, who will be bringing h er brand of alternative soul to Felt Thursday May 29. (The opening band, on at 9, is Sex. Yep, Sex.) Now, you may not have heard of her yet, but you never heard of Corinne Rae Bailey once, too. You may have heard Price's music on Showtime's "The L Word," "CSI" or "Cashmere Mafia." (Isn't that the way artists break these days? Land a song on a TV show.) Anyway, Price is a tad more ferocious than Bailey. L.R. Weixelman of Brooklyn Rocks writes that "...very few artists in the market today make the hair on the back of my neck stand up when they tie themselves into a song. Kirsten does just that." Dulci Pitagora, from GO! Magazine calls her "Raw, sexy, kickass... (with) the pipes of Janis Joplin and a truly electrifying stage presence." Price will be previewing material from debut album "Guts & Garbage," out in June 2008. You can hear her music at www.myspace.com/kirstenpricemusic. 533 Washington St., 617-350-5555 www.feltboston.com
