Mon. Jan. 28 One of our buds, Nick Blakey (used to play for Peer Group, plays with the UK band Nighingales sometimes in the States, books Church, plays in the In O ut), checks in to report the In Out's booking at Jacques on Monday Jan. 28. Not exactly the kind of club - noted for its drag queens - we're used to seeing the In Out, but Blakey says they have this Monday night rock series hosted by Rick Berlin and tThe In out's gigging at Jacques goes back to 1995. What can people expect. Singer-guitarist Todd E., says, "The In Out draws from an amalgam of styles reflectingthe musical fantasies of a peculiar gathering three North American men.Rockabilly, Prog, white R & B, so-called Post/Punk, Glam and Metal are all in themix, and the singing upholds the tradition of snidenon-vocalists such as Sky Saxon and Mark E. Smith. 'Underrated' is a favorite adjective lobbed at theband and 'Sounds like The Fall' was recently upgraded to 'Sounds like The Cramps meets The Fugs.' (All this is good in the JSink world, we must say.) "As one musician friend states, 'The In Out are one of the few bands out of Boston that transcends local band status.' It's proven to be very danceable and yes, they are quite popular with the ladies. Think: How can you go wrong with songs about LineCooks and non-hygienic handshakes, and a hard rock anthem for the terminally ill?" Who is today's The In Out? " Blakey is the bass player and does background singing. Tim Morse plays drums in the group and enjoys record shopping, oatmeal, and touring Ethiopia. Nudelman, Todd E. - vocals and guitarist - does most of the songwriting and all of the worrying." Starts around 10. Berline follows with a set at 10:45.Cover: $7.
