Babes in Boinkland: Back in Time for VDay Print E-mail
Saturday, 16 February 2008

 Sat. Feb. 16

It's fair to say that when Babes in Boinkland put on a show the attendance is predominantly male. The Babes, who put on a risque burlesque show, are an offshoot of the Boston-based college erotica magazine "Boink," and we've seen them in action. Sexy stuff. Stuff that would make Homer Simpson do the growl/purr thing he does when he's aroused. The Babes took the holiday season off - as opposed to taking their clothes off (ha ha) but they're back on the job now, and They're part of an event called "Cheap Thrills A-Go-Go," which is, sort of like it sounds like a psychedelic '60s dance party. That's at the Common Ground in Allston at 11 p.m. There's a $5 cover for that. Sugar says this will feature "vintage videos, gooey lights, and the Babes in Boinkland Go-Go dance stylings!" So, whatever side of the river you like to be on, the Babes have something for you. By the way, we've found men and women both find them entertaining, witty and personable as well as being, obviously, sexy. We like this whole idea of taking what you might call dirty dancing out of the usual strip club scene - well, what's left of it - and doing it in regular rock type clubs, and making you feel like you're not part of the raincoat club because you're there. You can checkk out the babes at their website www.myspace.com/babesinboinkland
