The Most Charitable Rockin' Time of the Year Print E-mail
Thursday, 13 December 2007

Thurs. Dec. 13

With Christmas approaching, charitable urges bubble up and the Boston rock community has been playing benefit Christmas gigs for years and years. Barry Marshall used to helm up one helluva show at the old Channel, and Chandler Travis is doing it for the fourth straight years at Johnny D's Thursday Dec. 13. He calls it the Boston Christmas Cavalcade for the Homeless, and it benefits Bread and James of Cambridge. Chandler's got a few of his various bands playing alongside some other notables. Full lineup, as of now: Ramona Silver, Willie Alexander, Amy Fairchild, Session Americana, The Downbeat 5, Shaun Wortis, Rose Polenzani, Andy Pratt, Merrie Amsterberg, Ryan Landry, T. Max, The Shook Family Singers, Uke Springsteen, The Incredible Casuals, The Chandler Travis Philharmonic & The Philharmonic Trombone Shout Band. Suggested donation: $15. Starts at 8:30. Merriment pretty much assured.
