Juliette Does Punk .. with her Licks Print E-mail
Monday, 05 November 2007

Tues. Nov. 6

Another Hollywood star gone rocker? Puh-leaze, you're saying. Hey, we feel your pain. We once had to "cover" a Bruce Willis concert in New York. But Juliette Lewis - who's been damn fun to watch on screen - has a lot punk rock kick in her. She's got a new album, a rockin' band called the Licks and she's in the young Patti Smith/Joan Jett mode. We saw her local debut at Spit and enjoyed it without reservation. Ok, maybe her gesturing was a tad overdramatic, but, really, it was just a good night of full-tilt rock 'n' roll, with hooks and edge. She's at the Middle East Downstairs Tuesday Nov. 6, with support from Suffrajett and Scissors for Lefty. Starts at 9. Tickets: $12,
