Sat. Oct. 27 Honah Lee, who's the co-presenter of a Halloween show at the Middle East Upstairs Saturday Oct. 27, says there must be 30-40 of these things going around this season. That is: A rock band, some semi-known, some not, dons a new persona (that is, rock for costume) and parades on stage as somebody else. Maybe it's somebody they've secretly worshipped, maybe it's a guilty pleasure, maybe it's just that thing we all crave - the opportunity to live outside you own skin for a night. And so, you will find Noble Rot as Motorhead, The Unstoppable Black Clouds as Nirvana and The Vershok as Guns 'N Roses, doing, mostly we think, the "Appetite for Destruction" LP. Rumor has it a few of the Bang Camaros are in the Vershok. Anyway, it starts around 9 and costs $10. It's also a Red Sox playoff night, but the beauty of the club is you can wander out into the restaurant section where bartender Franks - we assume Franks will be there that night - will have the telly tuned to Fox, so we may watch our hometown heroes pound the God Squad from Colorado. At right, is a photo of Lemmy. No, he and his Motorhead mates aren't going to be there but his spirit most certainly will. Knock back a whiskey in his honor. 472 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, 617-864-3278 www.mideastclub.com
