The Hit Parade at Fenway Continues ... Join the Fun Print E-mail
Wednesday, 24 October 2007

Thurs. Oct. 25

13-1! Another slaughter. What is happening here? It would seem the "long rest" vs. "great momentum" debate has been resolved, at least it was Wednesday night at Fenway Park, where my longtime pal-sitting-in-front-of-me Vinnie Strully - he runs the New England Center for Children by the way - proposed the National League be abolished and perhaps a minor league be promoted to play against the AL. It was one of those nights, where the tension evaporated early and the relaxed, comfortably numb feeling set in. Why was it this easy? Granted, it was only one game, and series turn around on a dime and Beckett was Beckett and who knows if Schilling will have it tonight? But you'll want to be watching it somewhere, be it home, your favorite bar or Fenway itself. Grandstand tickets - like what we have here at jsink.com - were going for about $750 on the resale market, for what that's worth. Is being there twice the fun? Sometimes. Not sure at that cost, however. But let's pummel those born again Rockies - we're talking their 21 out of 22 win streak and their clubhouse religious ways - 'til they can't wait to get home to their snowy park in the sky. The Fox broadcast starts at 8, the game at 8:35. Surely, it'll last past midnight.
