Sun. Oct. 21 There's a pretty good chance if you're reading this you know right where you're going to be from 8 p.m. to whenever Sunday Oct. 21 ... and that's either at F enway Park or in front of the best TV screen you own or can find in a bar. We were at Fenway Saturday and will be again Sunday - hey, it's the season ticket holder thing. We've been in this game a while and the payoff happens ever so rarely. If you don't want to play scalper, ticket agency or Craig's List game looking for tickets, you can put up with the Fox idiots - fair and balanced baseball broadcasting - somewhere. You know what bar to go to? Our preference, if we were bar bound, is not the meatpacking Fenway area joints, but someplace where the TVs are plasma or LCD, but the clientele not as out and out drunk and Sox mad/stupid. Someplace like the Foundation - if you're going to be in Kenmore Square or, say, the Sevens, if you're on Charles Street on Beacon Hill. (That's where we watched one of the ACLS away games - good vibes, crowd, owner, etc.) Anyway, find your spot early and settle in for the ride. Saturday was a breeze. Who'da thunk it? Sunday, we must hope the Dice-K of midseason form shows up, Drew continues to be Mr. September/October and Manny runs when he should.
