Mon. Oct. 8 Call your album "The Reckoning" and you're making some sort of bold statement. And 27-year-old Kasey Anderson is, especially on the CD-opening title track. This disc is seething (with words both sung, hissed and spoken) with anger about the way 2007 America is headed. In this, Anderson is working Ryan Adams/Steve Earle territory: Alt-rock with a bit of a lilt, but a lot of melancholy and agitation. It's not a concept album, Anderson says, but there is a thematic thread. "These characters are all at odds with their circumstances," he says. "They're all in a position to make a choice for change. These songs are about the price we pay; the circumstances and the sacrifices that lead to those changes." There's electric and acoustic sounds on the record, and every reason to believe Anderson will bring his full arsenal to Hennessy's tonight Monday Oct. 8 with Joe Carson opening at 8:30. Expect Anderson after 9. Tickets: $5. 25 Union St., Faneuil Hall, 617-742-2121 www.myspace.com/hennessysupstairs
