Monday Sept. 25 Sebastian Junger recently wrote "A Murder in Belmont,'' in which he discovered the man convicted as The Boston Strangler did work for his family in that town. And a Strangler-like murder happened ... Junger is most famous for "The Perfect Storm,'' and says he's fascinated with "extreme situations and people at the edges of things." This attitude has brought him to Sierra Leone, where he wrote about human rights abuses, to Kosovo and its war crimesand to the guerilla war in Afghanistan, among others. Junger should be in a safer environment Monday Sept. 25 at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum where he joins former NPR correspondent Sarah Chayes, who has been living in the former Taliban stronghold of Kandahar. They'll a discussion called "Rebuilding Afghanistan." The moderator is terrorism expert and Harvard teacher Jessica Stern. Starts at 5:30. Free. Columbia Point, Boston 866-JFK-1960 www.jfklibrary.org
