Are we in the midst of a new jazz era in Boston? That might be pushing it, but more and more restaurants are looking to capture boomers who've moved on from rock with sophisticated jazz nights. The Beehive, in the South End, has certainly been one successful entry into the field. Now, Vinalia, the lounge, bar and restaurant at Downtown Crossing, is joining the playing field, with a "live jazz + art" night starting Wednesdays Sept. 19. The art work is by Lisa Finch. The music is by the Circus Band, presenting the Yuki Trio with singer Gretchen Bostrom. There is no cover; proper dress required.
