september 6

I’m pretty sure when Starsailor, fronted by singer James Walsh, crossed the shores back in 2002 they were an introspective, modest, quiet-ish rock band, as would befit a group that took its name from a Tim Buckley album. Now, at least on their new, third CD “On the Outside,’’ the English quartet are playing on the rowdier (and uplifting) end of the Verve, Coldplay, U2 and Keane tip. More clanging about, more rousing tunes, equally heartfelt emotion. (I like the little blurb on the CD sleeve: “A war for corporate glory retold as a fairy story.’’)

That’s not all, folks. Also on this Paradise bill Wed. Sept. 6 is Peter Walker, who just released his second disc, “Young Gravity.’’ Fans of Pete Yorn or Neil Young might want to hear Walker, who music twists both up and down, and is catchy and, when apt, haunting. Brothermandude, a rock/funk quartet from London, was open but is now not on the date. Doors at 7 p.m. Tickets: $15.
