Sat. July 14 Buffalo Tom is back. They may not be a full-time band in the sense of young-scrapping-guys-trying-to-climb-the-ladder. They're grown-ups. They're not all full-time musicians. They have families. But they have released a new album, "Three Easy Pieces," and have a handful of US club dates, including their adopted h ometown, Saturday July 14. They're at the Paradise, with another Boston band that's re-united and pre-dates Buf Tom on the Boston dateline, going back to the '70s. Buffalo Tom - which has long had a knack for mixing pop and punk - looks at their new disc this way: "13 gnarly gems picked from Buffalo Tom's linty sweater. 13 smart bombs lookin' to blow your mind. 13 soft and chewy rock classics in the vein of Marty Balin. Whatever." Marty Balin?! Show starts at 9. Tickets are $20. 967 Commonwealth Ave., 617-562-8800 www.thedise.com
