Thus. July 5 Mike Rivard kicks up one of Boston's coolest, avant-rock-jazz series, "Club d'Elf," once again at its home base, the Lizard Lounge, Thursday July 5. Consider in intimate antidote to what what on the previous day. Roger Miller - Mission of Bur ma, Alloy Orchestra - joins on keyboards. Matt Glover is on electric mandolin, Jerry Leake plays tablas and percusiion, Dean Johnston plays drums, and Rivard anchors the project on bass & sintir. What to expect: Miller tells us: "Post-Miles Dub-jazz with a healthy dose of Middle-Eastern elements. The compositions by Rivard are vehicles for the band to improvise on - sometimes going way out. A typical set morphs from composition to composition without disruption, creating a seamless symphony of improvised music. Starts at 9:30. Tickets: $10 (In photo: members of Club d'Elf - it's an ever shifting lineup of like-minded folks.) 1667 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, 617-547-0759/1228 www.lizardloungeclub.com
