ongoing - Aug. 31 Maybe you wanna be in movies; maybe you wanna program movies. The Brattle Theatre is offereing one lucky gal or guy that latter chance on Sept. 27 via their "Fifth Annual Guaranteed Requst Raffle." What that means, explains the Bra ttle's Ned Hinkle, is that you can buy a $10 ticket (or 10 tickets for $50) for the shot to pick a double-feature that will run on that late September date. Last year, the winner chose "The Conformist" and "The Phantom of the Operator," an avant-garde documentary about telephone operators. The Brattle generall sells about 200 tickets, so this is not a big deal fundraiser, really. "It's fun," says Hinkle. "It engages people in a different way." If you win, you and a group of your friends get to go - you don't get the whole theater, it's a public screening - after a reception a Z-Square restaurant in Harvard Square. Now, there are a few small print guidelines - like no hardcore porn choices - but Hinkle says the theater's never had an issue. The only caveat is securing the film for the screening, and because of that, the raffle ticket buyers needs to list several choices. You can buy the tix at the theater (address below) or on line. The raffle goes on through the end of August. 40 Brattle St., Cambridge, 617-876-8021 www.brattlefilm.org
