Make a little love, get down tonight … the Bruce Campbell Way Print E-mail
Friday, 08 September 2006

september 8

The book is called "Make Love: The Bruce Campbell Way'' and the writer of that book - pictured in a smoking jacket, clutching a martini on the cover - is in our midst at 6 p.m. on Sept. 8. Celebrating the extended trade paperback release of his hit "autobiography." He's not Hef, but he's kind of playing a tongue-in-cheek Hef - at least on the cover. In the publisher's notes, Campbell answers the question "Is this a relationship book?" with "Well, if by 'relationship book' you mean that the characters in it have relationships or are related to someone, then yes, absolutely. Will you learn how to pick up chicks? Good heavens, I can only hope so, though for best results in that department you should both read this book and be Brad Pitt.''

Is in an "autobiographical novel?" "Yes. I'm the lead character in the story and I'm a real person and everything in the book actually happened, except for all the stuff that didn't."

Cheeky bastard, that Bruce - who you might know as a B-film actor in the "Evil Dead" series, "Congo" and the "Spiderman" movies. He also wrote "If Chins Could Kill."

Campbell is at the Brattle Theatre and a Bruce Campbell movie follows the event; tickets for the movie can be purchased from the theater. Tickets for the appearance are free, but can only be picked up at the Harvard Coop after Aug. 30. Limit: 2. Coop, 1400 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 617-499-2012,

Brattle, 40 Bratle St., Cambridge, 617-864-6837 brattlefilm.org
