Fri. Dec. 7 If you've never done so, give yourself a treat and go see the Blind Boys of Alabama. They began in 1939 at Talledega Institute for the Blind and were origing ally known as the Five Blind Boys of Alabama. Founding members Clarence Fountain, Jimmy Carter (no, not the ex-pres) and George Scott (no, not the ex-Sox Slugger) are joined by Joey Williams, Rickey McKinnnie, Tracy Pierce and Bobby Butler. They've sung with everyone from Peter Gabreiel to Robert Cray, Al Green, George Clinton, Chrissie Hynde, the Neville Brothers and Dr. John. They've been on all the late night chat shows. What they do is mix classic gospel and soulful interpretations of secular songs - and they raise the rafters. They make (at least temporary) believers out of agnostics and they stir the best parts of your being. Now, this upcoming show is their special Christmas affair, so expect seasonal cheer. If you feel like getting swept up in a wave of joy, be at Berklee Performance Center Friday Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets: $37-$28. 138 Massachusetts Ave., 617-876-4275 WorldMusic.org
