ArtDesy - An Art Directory

Be Like Joan, or at least in her presence Print E-mail
Friday, 09 March 2007

Fri. March 9

Joan Collins - occasionally called the most glamorous woman in the world - wrote her first book on beauty in 1980. This time, the "Dynasty" star is back with "The Art of Living Well: Looking Good, Feeling Great," and she's expanded her universe from beauty to tips on living the good life - and not necessarily on her kind of budget. Collins, who's in town for "Legends!" (see item above) comes off as uniformly likable in interviews, and her tips run along the lines of "everything in moderation." She also writes about assertiveness, sex, relationships and the like. One bookstore website, touting "The Art of Living Well" summarizes by stating, "You can be glamorous and stylish, be sexy and have masses of energy - you can be just like Joan!" Wow, all for the $24.95 (or whatever discounted price is going on). We doubt this book will bring you that, but at least you'll find out how she says she does it. On Friday March 9, Collins is appearing at Borders Boston at 1 p.m. Unfortunately, it's just a signing - no reading and Q and A, but maybe you can sneak in a quickie when you're at the table.
