The JSInk Valentine's Night Wrap-Up Print E-mail
Wednesday, 14 February 2007

Wed. Feb. 14

Ok, everybody, we've singled out some unique Valentine's Day choices (see: um, other choices), but we've decided to give you a "best of the rest" sort of wrapup. And so, you'll find Red Hat throwing what it calls "an Anti-VDay" party, which on the surface sounds like last call at some down-in-the-dumps bar. Isn't every day anti-VDay after a night of lonely drinking? But Red Hat's idea is that this is the Valentine's Day spot for - get this! - singles. Imagine. Singles going to a bar. Yep, that's the hook for Wednesday Feb. 14, with shennanigans starting at 9 p.m. It's half price appetizers and free to get in. ... Revolution has the anti-VDay thing going to, as it's got a F-CK LOVE ad running in Stuff@Night, is pushing the Absolut Singletini, while Vinnie the Kid spins rock and various mash-ups. It's asking you wear red, pink and black. Starts at 8 ... Red Sky is going for couples though, by offering a $125/couple for a three-course dinner and a bottle of Moet, while you're being serenaded by none other than Frank Sinatra. Who is dead. But they're promising "live" Sinatra? Que? Our guess: A Sinatra impersonator or two, who they're not advertising ... When you think romance to think hockey pucks? Tresca, owned by hockey great Ray Bourque, would like you to just try and park in the North End, and then enjoy their fare at what's been termed one of Boston's most romantic spots ... Masa has a $57 three course dinner being offered ... Folks, this is just a partial listing. More V-Day options as they come in.
