Thurs. Dec. 14 Teo Layasmeyer was a friend, a frequent phone buddy who loved talking music. He was also a bluesman - and a well respected one at that - but he was probably best k nown to the Boston community as the electic booker of the late lamented House of Blues.(He made it much more than a blues room, too.) Layasmeyer died this spring of liver cancer. He had a hell of a send-off, with moving tributes from friends and relatives and a New Orleans- style procession to exit the church. The Weekly Dig is turning its second annual "Holiday Shindig" into a benefit for his family. They're hosting a party at Cyclorama Thursday Dec. 14 featuring Guy Davis, Ryan Montbleu and the Nicole Nelson & Dwight Ritcher Duo. It starts at 6 p.m. and for the first two hours food and drink are free. The music goes on well into the night. Space is limited, so you should rsvp to the dig at the web address below. There's no official cover charge, but they'll be taking donations. You can also make donations to the Teo Layasmeyer Family Fund at 11 Hamblen Rd., Lexington, MA 02421 539 Tremont St., 617-426-5000 617-426-8942 weeklydig.com
