A Christmas Tradition: Rocking for the homeless with Chandler Travis and co. Print E-mail
Wednesday, 19 December 2007

Wed. Dec. 19

It's Christmas-time so Chandler Travis is at it again, hosting his 3rd "Annual Boston Christmas Cavalcade." What that means is you'll get the Chandler Travis Philharmonic - natch - but also an offshoot band with a whole lotta horns ... SCREECH! Nope, that all changed with last Thursday's storm which knocked out Travis's multi-bandbenefit for Bread 'n' Jams at Johnny D's, with the offshoot Philharmonic multipl-horn band, Robin Lane and many more. But Travis, trooper that he is, has regrouped for a "Mini-Cavalcade" with the Philharmonic, plus these folks: Ramona Silver, Amy Fairchild, Andy Pratt, Chris Mascara, a Shook Fambly Singer, Sal Baglio, Shaun Wortis, Snow Snezana, and the Athol Thingerth. (We here at JSink are aware some of these spellings might be suspect, but it's Chandler's show and his e-mail update, so we'll go with the flow.) It's taking place at the Toast Lounge Wednesday Dec. 19. Admission is usually free, and still free if you need it to be, but Travis says a donation of, say, $15.00 would be swell, and anything is appreciated. Now, it's an early show, starts at 8:30, but will go past 11, so there will be plenty of hootin' and hollerin' and holiday cheer.
