Fri. Dec. 8 W hat kind of band brings three competing radio stations together on one day? Not many. But it's a fete Guster, the finest band to come out of Tufts University and make a national splash, will accomplish Friday Dec. 8 when it spends the day playing gigs to promote their latest single, "Satellite," from their fifth studio disc, "Ganging Up on the Sun." Why Mayor Thomas M. Menino should declare it Guster Day! First, at Borders Back Bay the guys play a WFNX-FM-sponsored gig at 12:30 p.m. It's free, but space is limited so you might want to queue up early for this. Next up, later in the afternoon at 3:30 is a WBOS-FM-sponsored performance at the Charles Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Science. Tickets are required for this one, and you can tune into 'BOS for details or hit their website, wbos.com on how to win. Finally, Guster pulls into the home stretch at the First Act Guitar Studio at 7 p.m., where an unwrapped toy will get you in the door. Again, space is limited, so act accordingly. This one is sponsored by WXRV/The River. Borders, 511 Boylston St., 617-236-1444 or fnxradio.com; Museum of Science, McGrath Highway, wbos.com; First Act, 745 Boylston St., 617-226-7859 or wxrv.com
