Thurs. Nov. 30 We met Robert Parish once at some charity function, and had nothing to say to the man. This, partially because we had a certain amount of awe - he being of the Bird-Parish-McHale troika that ruled the Celtics for so long, and partially because if we had anything to say we'd have been shouting into his mid-section. Six feet five and under, we're fine. Parish's size ... intimidating for us. But there's nothing to be intimidated about concerning the big man's apearance at Borders-Wayside Commons in Burlington Thursday Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. Nope, he'll be signing copies of "The Boston Celtics Hero Book," and while we're not much for allocating "hero" status to athletes (save it for the firefighters), we'll always relish what Parish and his mates did back in those days. Bonus: "Net" - ha, ha, get it? - proceeds from book sales go to the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. 6 Wayside Rd., Burlington, 781-826-8526 bordersstores.com
