august 28 We’re likely in the midst of the dog days of August as you’re reading this. An American tradition during this time – certainly before air conditioning became more common and household – was the Escape to the Movie Theater. Indulge your sense of nostalgia at the Coolidge Corner Theatre on either one of these two Mondays, Aug. 21 or Aug. 28. What the Coolidge is doing is taking you back to those golden years, like, say 1962, for “Lawrence of Arabia,’’ maybe the ultimate wide-screen epic. So sit back and enjoy those exploits in the sand (be glad you’re not there), the exquisite cinematography and the contradictory nature of warrior-poet Lawrence as played by Peter O’Toole. Bit of trivia: There is not one speaking part for women in the film. Tickets: $9.50. Showtime: 7:30 p.m. 290 Harvard St., Brookline, 617-734-2500
