It's Transformation Time at Church: The Lights Out 4th Annual Halloween Extravaganza Print E-mail
Oct 27, 2012 at 03:29 PM

Sat. Oct. 27

Halloween approaches and Boston rock fans know what that means. Fake blood in the streets! Naughty nurses! And too many goddamn vampires and zombies. But also, a Boston rock tradition, vaLights Outrious local bands play dress-up - some sartorially, all musically - as they shed their own skin and take on the personas of various classic rock bands. The Lights Out fellas are in charge of Saturday Oct. 27's shebang at Church - this is their fourth year of doing so - and they're taking the stage - audaciously enough - as Queen. The show's being tagged as "HalloQUEEN." That's a lotta high harmonies and tempo/stylistiic shifts there fellas! In a what could be a very hilarious move, the glammy Sidewalk Driver hits the boards as the parody band Spinal Tap - yep, a parody of a parody. Ooh, the double matrix of rock gets so complex ... The Field Effect does Weezerand I, Pistol is Nirvana - please tell me costumes don't include Kurt post-death. Starts at 9.   Tix: $10 (Cheap).
