Mon. Dec. 31 Last call! We've sort of come to terms with the idea that as rock bands die/retire/move on their music can, and in some cases, should continue to exist in a concert setting. Which is a slightly skewed way of say ing that rock can be like theater: Just as a Tennessee Williams or Arthur Miller play can be revived and be pertinent and pressing in 2012, so can classc rock 'n' roll from another era, as played by musicians who were weaned on the stuff and want to keep it alive and kicking. There are numerous tribute acts out which is, I suppose, in some ways what Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra is. at their usual haunt, the Regent Theatre, Sal Clemente and his merry men and woman in Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra are putting on a series of 7 Saturday night shows, Oct. 27 - Dec. 29, at their usual haunt, the Regent Theatre in Arlington. (There's also a New Year's Eve gig Dec. 31 - duh.) The URO is trotting out their their Brit-rock staples (Who, Bowie, Queen, Beatles) with Nov. 17 being new ground for the guys, as they tackle the Jimi Hendrix songbook. The featured songs on the various nights are Nov. 3, Beatles, Nov. 10, The Who, Nov. 17, Hendrix, Dec. 15, Queen/Bowie/Led Zeppelin?Who with guest act Manchester Pipes, Dec. 22 and 20, same with opener TBA and New Year's Eve is up in the air right now. 7 Medford St., Arlignton, 781-646-4849 www.regenttheatre.com www.urorocks.com
