Nov. 19 Chances are you don't know David Rambo's work from his writing on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," because, let's face it, who really looks at writers' credits? But he's done that and he's also done this: Written "The Ice-Breaker," which might be the play to see after you've digested Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." Which is to say this work at the New Repertory Theatre's Aresenal Center for the Arts, starring Will Lyman and Amy Russ and directed by David Zoffoli, is about a love affair set against the backdrop of global warming. It concerns a young Ph.D. student seeking out an exiled genius who first inspired her to study climatology. She finds him, oddly enough, far from the glacial world but in the Arizona desert. Hmmm. Now you can see this play Wednesday-Saturday at 8 p.m. or go for the 2 p.m. Sunday matinee, where it'll be followed by exchanges with experts on the subject of global warming. On Nov. 12, it's P. Thompson David, who got his M.A. from the University of Maine (where we got our B.A.!) and has led research expeditions to Antarctica, New Zealand and way beyond. And on Nov. 19, closing day, it's Dan Grossman, writer for Scientific American, NPR producer, holder of numerous degrees and longtime studier of the enviornment and climate change. Be entertained, be informed. Tickets: $50-$30. 321 Arsental St., Watertown, 617-923-8487 newrep.org
