Lucy Kaplansky Sings about Life Threads at Bloomie's Print E-mail
Dec 10, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Thurs. Dec. 10

A beauty-fashion event and a set by New York singer-songwriter Lucy Kaplansky (New Yorker: "A truly gifted performer)? For free? Sure. Bloomingdale's in Chestnut Hill is doing what they call a "Scent and Sound" or "retail-tainment" (new word for us at JSink) event Thursday Dec. 10 from 5 - 7 p.m. The store is bringing Kaplansky - knownLucy Kaplansky for her mellow and sometimes melancholic soft rock and folk songs - to fete the new Life Threads Fragrance Collection by la prairie. Kaplansky, who's released seven CDs, has a new single called, well, "Life Threads." Co-incidence? We think not. Look if Hank Williams Jr. can yell at you being "ready for some football!" on TV, Kaplansky can play an upscale mall and help push perfume. Purchase a Life Threads fragrance and you get a chance to meet Kaplansky and receive an autographed CD. Wouldn't be a bad idea to call the number below to RSVP if you're interested. (Space is limited.)
