Sun. Nov. 1 The afterlife? Well, as an agnostic we have the firm belief of ... "We don't know!" And, really, we don't believe anybody knows. But we love movies about life-after-death (from " Ghost" to "Night of the Living Dead") and thought "The Lovely Bones" was a magnificent, chilling, yet beautiful book. We even bought into the movie made of Mitch Albom's "The Five People You Meet in Heaven." Could be, y'know. We also have these vague, optimistic thoughts of our mother and father up there in heaven (we were raised Catholic, see) doing whatever it is they do up there. Of course, we also love David Byrne's line in Talking Heads' "Heaven": "Heaven ... is a place where nothing ever happens" and we concur with most of what Christopher Hitchens writes in "God Is Not Good," so there you go. That's a long way of introducing what's going on at Forest Hills Cemetery Sun. Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. You'll take a tour of the gravesites of some of the religious leaders and practitioners - as well as skeptics - of this controversial 19th-century faith, Spiritualism. They believed that death was a transition to a new form or existence; people who had "crossed over" could be contacted through seances and spirit guides. Cost of guided tour: $9. Meet at the main gate for a two-hour walk. Dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes and bring water. 95 Forest Hills Ave., Jamaica Plain, 617-524-3150 x251 www.foresthillstrust.org
