Bloody Dexter Drinks at Sofia's Print E-mail
Dec 19, 2009 at 12:00 AM

ongoing

The season's coming to a close. Now, you're a "Dexter" fan; my wife's a "Dexter" fan; we're all "Dexter" fan. It's Showtime's most compelling reason to, um, pay for Showtime. It's creepy and cool and humorous, and it gives us a serial killer we can root for. This year, as Dex tries to be a husband and step-dad, while squaring off against the multiply murderous Trinity killer played by John Lithgow ... well, the delights keep on coming. (Though with all the serial killer plots spread over the various "Law and Order" shows and "NCIS" shows and "CSI" shows, you'd think this country is more afraid of serial Dexterkillers than, says, the H1N1 virus or another terrorist attack. I'm reminded of Joe Strummer's line in "I'm So Bored with the USA" back in 1977: "The killers in America work seven days a week." (He got that from watching American TV.) Anyway, back to "Dexter" and one thing JSInk is not averse to, drinks and drink promotional tie-ins to pop culture. We had the A-Roid cocktail up on site during the regular season. But to celebrate all things "Dexter," Marios Michalakis, owner of Sofia Italian Steakhouse in West Roxbury is offering a special "Dexter Drink" cocktail list throughout the month of October.  Patrons can try the new cocktail list that pays homage to everyoneâ's favorite killer and his cohorts in the police department, who he eludes episode after episode. Silly cops!  And, yeah, you should order a steak kextra rare to go along. Ok, so whaddya got?

The Bloody Dexter: (Bloody-n-Chopped Gazpacho), Ketel One Vodka, Sofia Homemade Bloody Mix with Kosher Salt, Freshly Chopped Green Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Onion, Garlic and Basil.

The Sergeant Batista Mojito: Muddled Mint,Lime juice, Simple syrup, White creme de menthe, Bacardi, Splash of soda, Lime and Mint garnish

The Miguel Cuba Libre: Goslings Ginger Beer, Bacardi, Splash of Coke.
