Fridays in Sept. No place in Boston lets you look at our world quite like the Museum of Science. Now, in recent years the MoS has done a lot of pop culture/science things - the CSI exhibit, an u pcoming Harry Potter exhibit - but one of the constant and timeless delights are the films shown on the IMAX dome theater aka the Mugar OMNI Theater. You sit back, you look up, out and around you and fully take in the experiences you're unlikely to find elsewhere. In September, the MoS is offering a Free Film Friday deal, showing films that will take you to the bottom of the sea, transport you to mystic India, and experience, as they say "seldom-seen wonders of the world." You can pick up tickets for the shows at the museum box office on the day of the show only, first come, first served. Limit two shows per guest. The films are presented all day. Check the website below for times and films. The museum is open Fridays 9 am - 9 pm. Also, free on Fridays, 8:30 – 10:00 p.m., weather-permitting, "Stargazing at the Gilliand Observatory." Equipped with a computer-controlled, 12-inch Meade LX200 telescope and staffed by knowledgeable Museum employees, it's a great way to look up for inspiration and wonder. The observatory is open every Friday weather permitting. 1 Science Park, 617-723-2500 www.mos.org
