Sat. Oct. 28 Boy, the Halloween stuff just keeps pouring in here at INK! Makes sense. It is adults' No. 1 holiday and it probably falls right behind XBox or Xmas or whatever for kids. It's be who-you're-not night. If you're uptight, dress like a slutty nurse. If you're a liquid freak cover yourself in fake blood. If you really want to scare someone dress up like Bill O'Reilly. Machine is hosting Bloodfeast 2006, where you're encouraged to give the costuming your all, because the best-dressed walks (staggers) home with a grand. (Note: Do not spend more than $1000 on costume; not cost-efficient.) This is also a two-pronged benefit: The Red Cross will be there to take your blood and the Society of Professional Journalists scholarship fund will take your $15 at the door. Entertainment? You bet. Z.W.A. (Zombies With Attitudes) will tell you what it's like to be a walkin' stalkin' member of the undead. Music will come from Angeldustrial (great name, sounds scary), Sarula and Spoiled. Lena Michaels will do a burlesque performance. This is put on by one of our favorite colleagues at a former major metropolitan newspaper, Emily Sweeney, who always had the best 'do in the biz, and never believed punk was dead. Starts at 10 p.m.
