Mon. April 6 JSInk does seem to have a penchant for noting goofy/funny cocktail concoctions, those mixed drinks created to serve a promotional purpose but align itself with some current affair. With the onset of baseball season and the Red Sox opening against AL champs, the Tampa Bay Rays, Monday April 6, Bonfire is announcing its latest addition to its co cktail menu: It's The A-Roid cocktail. Mmmm ... a variety of injections to the bum? No, but ...The A-Roid starts with a shot of El Mejor Tequila, served straight up. To give the shot a little something extra; a spicy smoky splash is served on the side in a convenient syringe… minus the needle. Inject the Performance-Enhancing Boost of Spicy Tomato “Juice” right into the shot or use it as a chaser. The A-Roid's only $11, which is right in line with most mixed drinks these days. They'll be serving it throughout the season. Despite the fact that A-Rod is not going to have much of a season, being injured all through - what? - at least mid-summer. But we can still hate him for what he's done, right? And, oh yes, there's a Red Sox-inpsired menu, too: a Lansdowne Street in a Bun (ground pork, onions, peppers, spicy mustard) at $7 - about the same as a sausage at the ballpark; Francona's Franks with Pequillo Pepper "Ketchup" ($5); Pedroia Sized Buffalo Chicken Bites with pickeld celery and gorgonzola ($5) and a Guinness "Big Frapi," which involves the ale, vanilla, chocolate and caramel ($6).This stuff will be served throughout the Red Sox season. 50 Park Plaza, 617-262-FIRE www.bonfiresteakhouse.com
