The Huntington Theatre has major success with a one-day/deep discount sale last year, and the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.) is doing so this year, Friday Jan. 9. They will offer $25 tickets during for early performances of each production of the current season. “Given the challenging economic climate, we want to give the opportunity for price conscious patrons to be able to attend the A.R.T. at a lower price.  We don want them to miss our exciting upcoming offerings – a world premiere, two classic masterpieces, and a no-holds-barred comedy,” says Ruth Davidson, A.R.T.’s Director of Marketing and Communications.

The remaining productions of the Season are Anton Chekhov’s "The Seagull," dirThe Seagull - Karen MacDonaldected by János Szász; Samuel Beckett’s "Endgame," directed by Marcus Stern; the world premiere of "Trojan Barbie" by Christine Evans, directed by Carmel O’Reilly; and David Mamet’s "Romance," directed by Scott Zigler. Descriptions provided by the A.R.T. ...
Written in 1896, Anton Chekhov’s tragicomedy of life and art astonished the old century as it heralded the birth of modern drama.  Dreams born and shattered, loves won and lost – "The Seagull" paints a rich and tumultuous portrait of the human heart. It runs January 10 through February 1 on the Loeb Stage.  Discounted tickets will be available for the performances from January 10-15.

Spare, enigmatic, and absurdly funny, "Endgame" is one of the greatest dramas of the modern age. Beckett’s language is pared down to a distilled beauty, and his archetypal characters achieve a poetic grace despite their bizarre condition. It will run February 14 through March 15 on the Loeb Stage.  Discounted tickets will be available for the performances from February 14-19.

Lotte Jones, a doll repair expert, vacations in Troy, where she finds more of a change of scene than she’d bargained for. Part homage to Euripides’ Trojan Women, "Trojan Barbie" is an epic war story with a most unlikely heroine, who always looks on the bright side even as past and present collide about her. It runs March 28 through April 19 at Zero Arrow Theatre. Discounted tickets will be available for the performances from March 28-April 2.

It’s hay fever season, and in a courthouse a judge is popping antihistamines like candy. David Mamet as you’ve never seen him before. "Romance" is a courtroom farce that takes no prisoners in its quest for total political incorrectness. Performances run May 9 through May 31 on the Loeb Stage.  Discounted tickets will be available for the performances from May 9-14.

On Jan. 9, tickets can be purchased in person from 9AM to 6PM at the Box Office or by phone or web at the addresses below.
