Dragonfly: An exotic band, not a Fawlty Towers punchline Friday, 15 June 2007 Friday, June 15  There's a lot to tell about Miki Singh, a half Indian/half Indonesian former MIT student and Bostonian who now lives in St. Bart's and fronts the band Dragonfly. In 1991, he and a friend founded Art Technology Group,of which Singh was CEO and president. The company develops consumer focused internet applications and development tools and made Singh a pile of dough - he was considered the 23rd richest man under 40 a few years ago by Forbes. But that's not why we're writing about him here. Singh's first love was music, one he put away to run ATG, but came back to in 2001 to form Dragonfly with guitarist Peter Parcek. Brother Cleve, of Combustible Edison and eons.com, is part of this quintet! The music is a worldly mix of styles - moody, mysterious, emotional with traditional instruments used alongside tablas and sitars. Consider it exotic easy listening. But not creamy-smooth, unchallenging easy listening. This music has subtle power.
