Sat. Nov. 22 "I'm made a bit uncomfortable by such titles!" says political activist/historian/playwright Howard Zinn. He's speaking of "Zinnfest," an ongoing series of Zinn's plays and r eadings that are happening this fall and into the next year. Well, it could have been Zinnapalooza, and that would have been worse. And, really, though Zinn just being modest. What Wesley Savick, theater professor at Suffolk University, is doing is a Zinnfest. The three-show run concludes Saturday Nov. 22. The production is something Savick wrote and adapted from Zinn's writings which he calls "Shouting Theatre in a Crowded Fire." (Good title.) It's at the C. Walsh Theatre at 8 p.m. each night with a Saturday matinee at 3. Savick describes it as "equal parts Marx and Marx Brothers,', " adding "'Shouting Theatre in a Crowded Fire' catapults the writings of Howard Zinn through a dizzying American landscape of game shows, pop music, and fractured reenactments of the Group Theatre, the Living Theatre and 'The Crucible.'" Zinn says it's "an imaginative romp through some of my writings." Tickets: $15, $5 students, seniors & Suffolk community. C. Walsh Theatre,55 Temple St., 800-838-3006, 617-573-8282 www.zinnfest.org
