Strike up the Celtics: Paul Pierce Invites You to Bowl and Raise Bucks for the Truth Fund Print E-mail
Monday, 17 November 2008

Mon. Nov. 17

Everyone loves a winner and, after years of ignoring our Boston Celtics, last year, well, we came around. Because they came around. Just as we'd resigned ourselves to the Bird-McHale-Parish era as the last of the good times on the parquet, Paul Pierce, KG and the guys turned it around and made us proud again. We feel sheepish about jumping upon the bandwagon - just as we felt proud we loved the pre-'67 Sox when they were awful and were with them all the way during "The Impossible Dream" year, but such is life. We celebrate Green now. And here's how you can do it Monday Nov. 17 and raise sPaul Pierceome money for the captain's "Truth Fund," a non-profit organization established by Pierce to provide educational and life-enriching opportunities for disadvantaged youth. Pierce, along with various other C's and other celebrities, will be hosting "The Truth Strikes Again," a bowling tournament at that citadel of hip Boston bowling, Kings Lanes. How can you attend and/or participate. There are two options for ticket purchases: a.) $500 per person includes the opportunity to bowl a game (will be paired with other ticket purchasers) and enjoy access to VIP bowling lane area with corporate partners and celebrities; complimentary beverages and hors d’euvres; gift bag with Nike merch and other complimentary items; access to live and silent auction and raffle or b.) $100 per person includes access to event (no bowling access); complimentary everages and hors d’euvres; gift bag with Nike merchandise and other complimentary items; access to live and silent auction and raffle. Does any of this mean you'll be high-fiving Paul Pierce? Not necessarily, but you might be. The man's gotta be in a pretty good frame of reference. Starts at 6,
