Sat. Nov. 8 Holy smokes. Alert readers will have noted the Television tribute band which played Church yesterday, doing the entirety of "Marquee Moon." If you're a fan of that sort of thi ng, you may be a fan of this as well. Ex-Television guitarist Richard Lloyd - generally considered TV's second guitar, but a guy who actually played more leads than you'd think - is playing the same club (Church) on Saturday Nov. 8. Not only that, in his band, the Supermonkey Trio, is former Television drummer Billy Ficca. Now, Lloyd's released a bunch of post-TV work, played with numerous other artists, and boasts one of the best solo records to come out of the punk band era of the late-'70s, "Alchemy." His guitar work is fluid, his take oft melancholic. But the Surfmonkey Trio is a band with a CD out - their own identity to stake out - and they've been described as "a rumbling beast" of a band. Big, loud, power trio sound. TV covers: "Elevation" and "Friction." Should be interesting. They're playing with Comanchero, Fox Pass and Mars UK. Starts at 9. Tickets: $10 advance and $12 at the door. 69 Kilmarnock St., 617-236-7600 www.churchofboston.com
