Billy Bragg Brings it On the Road to the People, at Somerville Theatre Print E-mail
Wednesday, 15 October 2008

Tues. Oct. 21 and Wed. Oct. 22

Billy Bragg - musician, raconteur, political activist, socialist - has been part of America's pop scene for a quarter-century. He began playing harsh, eloquent folk-punk sBilly Braggongs - some covers, some his own - and picked up where the Clash left off. He likes to show up on these shores around the time of our presidential elections, noting, as he says in the interview you can click to, that he may not have a vote here, but he does have a voice and what America does highly impacts the world at large. More now than ever perhaps. I interviewed Bragg for this weeks Boston Phoenix and you can access it at www.thephoenix.com. It's the "Back Talk" feature. He plays Somerville Theatre tonight, Oct. 21 and tomorrow night Oct. 22 at 8. The Watson Twins open. Tickets are $36.
