Doggie Doggie World Time Again at Forest Hills Print E-mail
Saturday, 18 October 2008

Sat. Oct. 18th

Walking the dog. Now, there's one ritual beloved by owner and canine alike and, let's face it, a pretty cheap pleasure in this foreclosed world. But if you want to pay a little bit, get some info and take Fido on the trek of his/her life, consider the 11th Annual DoDogg Walk at Forest Hills Cemetery Saturday Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. Dee Morris will lead you and your best friend through the gorgeous grounds, tell talkes of Victorian animals and their owners and visist some of the wonderful animal sculptures. The Forest Hills people would like to suggest this tour is for "sociable" animals (and we presume owners) so as there isn't a massive doggie brawl in the boneyard. Cost: $12 for you/dog free. Meet at the main gate. Of note: The Human Society has proclaimed October "Adopt-a-Dog" month and it's a doggone good idea - not to get Sarah Palin on you. We recently wrote a piece on puppy mills for the Boston Phoenix (www.thephoenix.com) which deals with Jana Kohl's battle to rid the world of the disgusting breeding facililties that overpopulate the canine world.
