The King & You: Elvis Is Everywhere! Print E-mail
Sunday, 15 June 2008

We've seen both last year's winner Shawn Klush and runner-up, Donny Edwards (in photo) and both were damn good. If you're thinking it a bit kitschy, well, we were too upon approach, but the quality of the Elvi and the power of the music burst through that bubble. There some damn fine songs, particularly the early era, but also in the latter ("SDonny Edwards as Elvisuspicious Minds," "In the Ghetto") and you're likely to hear a wide range at the Regent.  The final round begins Sunday at 2 p.m, with tickets at $30-25. By the way, a husband and wife team from New York are in the competition - that means they're challenging each other. Imagine: You're an ETA and you're married to an ETA! I guess that means you have Something Really Big in Common.  (And, if you're wondering, yes, women can be ETAs, too.) Oh, and the Chilly Cow - right around the corner from the Regent - will be selling Peanut Butter & Banana Frozen Custard, created especially for this Elvis Weekend. Yeech, we say. But it's true that a banana-and-pb sandwich was one of Elvis's favorites. He was, truly, a gourmand.
