Green Grass and Impressive Art: A Stroll Through Forest Hills Print E-mail
Sunday, 08 June 2008

She is the Forest Hills Trusts' Curator of Historic Collections. (Trust me, there's a lot oForest Hills Cemeterf history here.) Back in the 19th century, flowers and plants had certain emotions and feelings associated with them, and those motifs were carved onto tombstones, taking on coded meaning. Ciregna explans the Victorian code as you stroll the cemetary, noticing the poppiles, lilies, ivy and oak leaves on the carved stones. You'll also take in some pretty awe-inspiring landscape. Admission: $9.
