Art Away from Newbury Street in the South End Print E-mail
Saturday, 21 June 2008

ongoing - Sun. June 22

Do ya like bunnies? Who' doesn't! Do you like "a sad menagerie of booze-addled, overburdened, melancholy flora and fauna on a solemn and cheerful death march into o"Tomorrow" by Joe Keinbergerbscurity?" You bet! The latter is Joe Keinberger's description of his work at Space 242's New Loft Gallery. (It's his "Tomorrow" that you see here.) His partner in this showing is Sarah Coyne, whose taste runs toward a sweet blend of bright colors and simple imagery, with subjects including, plants, birds and things. A nice bit of comparing and contrasting, aye? The exhibit runs through June 20. Space 242 bills itself as the "alternative" to the fine art callers on Newbury Street, and prefers embracing pop surrealists and "low-brow" artists. Free.
