America's Pastime at the Museum of Science Print E-mail
Sep 01, 2008 at 12:00 AM

Now, there is a dark side of baseball, but "Baseball As America" celebrates the American Pastime. (It still is, right? Extreme Fighting hasn't taken over or anything has it?) You'll see more thaCarl Yastrzemskin 500 artifacts from the collections in Cooperstown, presented in a variety of themes including invention and popular culture. highlights the history of the sport and the ways it reflects and sometimes shapes American society. Through interactive exhibits and programs, the Museum of Science will offer visitors the chance to learn the role science plays in baseball, and how technology has influenced the game through the decades. (We wonder if there's a debate about whether they should have the strike zone measured electronically, to assure accuracy and allow occasional replays to count - like in football.) Now, remember, don't spit yer tobacco chaw on the museum floor, it's not a ballyard.  Admission: $17, a deal you won't be getting at Fenway. Open 9-5. Tody's the last day.
