Almost See Led Zeppelin. Get Lucky. Ride the Ride at the Hard Rock Park Print E-mail
Friday, 16 May 2008

just by forking over $20 at going to the show. Where is the Hard Rock Park? Myrtle Beach, so at the least you can some golf in on some championship courses during a heat wave June 2 and 3. (Oh, that's when this tripis.) What happens at Hard Rock Park? Probably a lot of stuff. It's being called the first rock 'n' roll theme park, and it's as inevitable as was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, back in the day, and Rock Band and Guitar Hero now. What they're promoting here is "Led Zeppelin: The Ride." We're certain this must be licensed by the three remaining Zeppeliners, because they're no slouches when it comes to marketing and branding. What it is, we don't know. We know there's a roller coaster of sorts that must ... simulate the highs and lows a Led Zeppelin song brings you! Is there a dark cave where you experience a wall shaking drum solo? A screening room for "The Song Remains the Same"? (Please, no, not again.) What else is down there that merges the excitement of standing in line - no we mean thrill-packed rides - with rock guitar solos? Be the first on your block to take a dive in
Brian Jones' pool and fly the plane that downed Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ok, we're getting cynical and silly here; this may be a hoot. Who knows? Win the tickets at the Hard Rock in Boston, come back and tell us. (Proceeds to to Ernie Boch Jr.'s charity, Music Drives Us.)
