The Motion Sick: Don't Let the Name Upset You Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 August 2008

Wed. Aug. 27

The Motion Sick singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Epstein used to play what he calls “aggressive counter-folk” and he has brought some of that sensibility over to his nThe Motion Sickew foursome. Epstein also calls the band “a little sinister and disturbing.” The Motion Sick also reference alt-country, but it’s roots music with dark overtones and edgy bits of noise. The new disc, "The Truth Will Catch You," even features a cover of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” Says Epstein of that song, “I enjoyed the lyrics and the general mood of the music. There’s this weird, bleak, barren landscape, but there’s this piece of positive stuff hidden under the layers of gloom.”  They're at Church every Wednesday in August with different support groups. Shows start at 9. And it's free.
