Thurs. April 24 We don't know how it is in other cities, but Boston's upper-end restaurants seem to like nothing as much as partaking in charitable ventures, especially for the homeless and hungry. This year, the organization Friends of Boston's Homeless, is putting on its 21st Annual Benefit at the State Room. Aquitane, Azure, Eastern Standard, Gargoyles on the Square, Redbones, Legal Sea Food and many many more will give you what you want as long as you fork over $100 to the Friends. Entertainment provided by Four Guys in Tuxes and C-Zone Music. Our pal, the witty Improper Bostonian columnist Jonathan Soroff is the auctioneer - yes, there will be raffles and auctions, and it should be a splendid, elegant evening. It's called Beyond Shelter and takes place Thursday April 24, starting at 6. 60 State St., 617-534-2526 x383 or 385 www.fobh.org
