Comic Books in a Library: Yes, indeed. Join the discussion at the BPL Print E-mail

Tues. April 22

Are you a comic book geek? We confess, we're not. Oh, we were. From benign Disney comics and Archie comics as a kid to, in our latter years, Reid Fleming and Love and RockJosh Elderets. But we stepped off the train at some point. Maybe it was the "so much, where to begin again?" problem or maybe it was "too many comics become movies now" grump or maybe it was just feeling like I shouldn't be looking at pictures, I should be reading real books. But comic book fans will argue - very passionately - about their picture books, talk about the artistry involved and the complexity. There's a very good place to hear that sort of give and take: The Boston Public Library's Rabb Lecture Hall on Tuesday April 22 at 7 p.m. Josh Elder, author of "Mail Order Ninja," hosts a session called "Comic Book Question and Answer."
