It has come to our attention that there is an expo for every product or service ever sold. And this makes sense, of course. Gather the tribes! Exchange tips, dollars, well wishes, vibes. And if you add in entertainment ... well ... you're making it a holiday for everyone. That's the case for the second annual Boston Bu rlesque Exposition, taking place at The Hyatt Regency Hotel Saturday and Sunday March 23. (The expo part is Saturday and Sunday , 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. It's $5 in advance for both days; $10 at the door.) It's put on by one of Boston's notable burlesque troupes, the Boston Babydolls (in the photo). It has all of the things that one associates with burlesque: tassels, dancers, sequins, rhinestones, and feathers. One more thing this year: live music. "Music is as much part of burlesque as the glamorous costumes or the dancers themselves," says Mr. Scratch, organizer of the event. "But modern burlesque is more than the brassy bump 'n' grind. That's why were thrilled to have these three bands with us." On Sunday, March 23: For burlesque, at 8, there's the newcomer's showcase followed by a sideshow-ball/concert by The Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band. They will provide suitably circus-y tunes to accompany ball, a collection of variety performers used to sharing the stage with burlesque dancers. Highlights of The Sideshow Ball include a husband and wife yo-yo team, Boston's only professional, juggling strong woman, a woman who dances with snakes, and "The Human Floor". ($30 advance, $40 door). The expo part of the day is 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday. There will be exhibits with historica costumes, an art show, vendors peddling their sexy wares. A $5 ticket covers you. 575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, 617-492-1234 or the expo at 617-869-2000 www.Burlesque-Expo.com
