Boston music

Reviews of Current Music Productions and Performers.

Boston music production, performance and band reviews covering such music genres as jazz, blues, classical, rock, alternative and punk.

Whether you are into smoking hot jazz or the local alternative music scene, Boston has long been a major hub for a number of music genres. From intimate performances in the city’s numerous clubs to full scale stadium concerts at the Bank of America Pavilion or the Tweeter Center, the city hosts a vibrant selection of music events.

While the city hosted the likes of the now defunct Rathskeller during 70’s, one local favorite that has endured is the Paradise Club. Featuring a killer line up of performers since 1977, the Paradise holds the honor of being the first venue U2 ever played in the US. Over the years it has hosted the likes of The Police, AC / DC, Blondie, REM, The Jam, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders and Dire Straits. Committed to showcasing some of today’s hottest talent, the Paradise regularly features a must-see lineup.

For a varied selection of music genres, the Middle East Club is a sure bet. Featuring four sites in one location, Upstairs, Downstairs, the Corner and ZuZu, the Middle East hosts a variety of live music performances, in addition its restaurant. Featured music genres vary somewhat with each on the location, but include everything from dance, rock and hip hop.

Boston’s own Hard Rock Café is another well-established hotspot for live music in the city. A restaurant, event venue and site for national as well as Boston music productions, the Hard Rock showcases both the well-known and soon-to-be-known alike.

Check out the reviews below to find out more live music currently running in Boston or coming soon.  Find the info you need by first selecting from the listed music genres, then select a performer.  Look over the archived reviews of past performances to find out who you should see next time around.
